How Many Apps Does One Use in a Single Month?
The answer to this question is mind-blowing. In a recent report by 9to5Mac, each person uses an average of 26 apps a month - technically speaking, that is one app for almost each day of the month. Ok, I think we get the point, we use a whole lot of apps!
From Google to Snapchat to Weather Channel to OpenTable, I think it is safe to say that the app world is taking over our lives. I know personally, my phone has over six individual folders filled with useful apps. Although I do not use many of these apps often, I will gladly admit I use a good chunk of them every single day.
While we all may have an overload of apps on our phones that continues to grow, the amount we actually use these apps seems to move at a steady pace. Photography, entertainment and news apps seem to be some of the app categories in the growth category in terms of usage. Photography app usage alone has grown 131% between 2012 and 2013.
App usage, obviously, differs by age as well at the category of the app. In a study conducted by Nielson, Android and iPhone app users between the age of 18-24 spend the most time on apps a month. Whereas users over 55 spent the least.
Dear Mom and Dad, interested in Snapchat? As the world of apps continues to grow, clearly the older folks need to get more involved in the app flow.
