App Review: Edovo Jail Education Solutions
Approximately 12 million people pass through America’s jail systems every year. Shockingly, more than 50% of those incarcerated return to jail or prison after released, Edovo can change that. Edovo is a tablet-based, wireless educational platform for prison inmates, aiming to reduce recidivism by helping incarcerated people get an education.
The basic concept of Edovo, reported by Forbes, is to offer inmates a system which provides all spectrums of education from college credit courses to anger management, financial literacy, and other tools. Co-founder Brian Hill has high hopes that this education based app will reduce the rate of recidivism.
The only way inmates have a chance at making it in the real world is through learning and education. In order for inmates to get more involved in this life-changing app, educational activities are incentivized through earned access to limited entertainment. Inmates, just like the rest of us, have the ability to get more involved in the tech world and education is a way to keep them from behind bars.
