Access Denied: AdColony Says No Deal with Opera

Recently, there have been rumors diffusing among the tech world that the leading mobile video marketing platform AdColony was being acquired by Opera Software. In a report by Nativemobile, sources said the company “either purchased or is close to purchasing mobile video advertising startup AdColony.” That rumor was quickly put to rest after CEO Will Kassoy denied the TechCrunch report.

Although the buzz has stirred up some controversy, Kassoy has yet to deny that the two global companies have discussed the idea for the future. He does, on the other hand, admit that his company will continue to “kill it” by providing customers the best mobile video.

With headquarters in Norway, Opera Software is highly known and recognized for their web browser software for phones, tablets and computers. Adcolony could absolutely be a possible prospect for Opera in hopes of expanding the video ad network. AdColony exposed that it surpassed $100 million in gross annual revenue in less than three years from the day it launched to the public. "AdColony's landmark $100 million revenue run rate reflects the power and value to advertisers of our innovative mobile video product and technology," said Kassoy.

The company is projected to reach $29 billion this year.

“It ain’t over till the fat lady sings”, and in this case, Opera has sang.
